Bishop Martin School Council Vision Statement:
- Our school council works together as a team to ensure we can be the best school possible by discussing ideas and making decisions.
- We aim to make pupils feel comfortable, happy and safe at school
- We aim to listen to others and discuss comments and suggestions that would make our school an even more wonderful place.
- We shall work hard to make our world a better place.
Children vote for each other in their year group from a range of nominees. The school council is led by a Chair and a Vice Chair who are chosen by the elected council members. We have a teacher representative who helps to facilitate the meetings. the school council helps to provide a voice for all pupils and it aims to meet twice every half term.
During the past few years we have raised money to buy equipment for each class, chosen by the children. This term we have bought some new equipment at playtime including a new buddy bench. We helped organise the donations from families to the South Liverpool Foodbank and have begun to organise an event for Children in Need. We will also be working with members of St Peter's to continue to raise money for Encontro Com Deus.
