Attendance Information

At Bishop Martin we consider maintaining high attendance very important, attendance is directly linked to raising achievement and skills for life and work.  We consistently work towards a whole school attendance goal of above 97.5%.  As a school we will do all we can to ensure maximum attendance for all our pupils ensuring every pupil has access to full-time education.

Our attendance is improving year on year!

School Times and Punctuality

Playground open:              8:40am

Classroom Doors open:    8:45am

Registration:                       8:55am

Please ensure that your child arrives at school by 8:55am at the latest each morning.  It is important that children come to school on time every day.  Continual punctuality is important because if, for example, a child arrives 15 minutes late at school each day, they lose almost 2 weeks of education a year!

Holidays during term time

Term time leave for holidays will not be routinely authorised.  Parents who choose to take their child out of school without written permission from the school may be issued with a fixed penalty notice.  Only in exceptional circumstances may a head teacher grant permission for leave.

What should I do if I am worried about my child's school attendance?

If you do have any concerns over your child's attendance or punctuality, for whatever reason, please contact the school to discuss your concerns so we can help support you.
