Liverpool Children's Festival of Reading
We are excited to announce the return of the annual ‘Liverpool Children’s Festival of Reading’ to Bishop Martin in 2022!
This special festival, which is designed to allow children in schools across the city to meet and listen to authors, illustrators and poets, will take place virtually from Monday 7th February until Friday 18th February 2022.
Each class will enjoy a workshop in school with a different author focusing on a different book, including the opportunity to ask any questions they may have.
Clark and Lant (2019) found a significantly higher level of reading enjoyment in pupils who reported to have had a writer visit (68.2%) compared to those who haven’t (47.4%).
We strongly believe that providing rich, purposeful first-hand experiences like these will INSPIRE a new generation of authors, illustrators and poets.
We are thrilled that all children will be able to take part in these fantastic events and can’t wait for them to get started!
